Chingari Shakti Foundation and Rotary club of Bombay, Mahakali Heights jointly organized blood camp for Thalassemia Children’s

 


Chingari Shakti Foundation and Rotary club of Bombay, Mahakali Heights joined hands to come forward and help children’s suffering from Thalassemia by organizing blood donation camp on 31st January 2021, at Sher E Punjab Gurudwara, Langar hall in Andheri East.

Around 73 donors across Mumbai came forward to support this social cause organized with the help of Hi-tech Blood Bank on Sunday.

The doctors & the medical staff of Hi-tech Blood Bank were very prominent in their jobs and making this blood donation drive a successful one.

The entire Kohli Family along with 82 years lady came forward for donation. The True Rotary and Chingari Samaritan’s for the saving the lives of Thalassemia children.

It was difficult to get donors for patients suffering from Thalassemia. “It is a blood disorder necessitating regular blood transfusions. It is one among the 21 types of disability recognised by the government. But many patients suffering from Thalassemia struggle to find donors for thalassemia.

All the donors were screened before donation of blood. They were asked whether they had any contact with COVID-19 positive patients or any travel history. It was ensured that all had face masks and washed their hands before donating blood.

The fear that blood donation during the current crisis would make donors susceptible to COVID-19 infection was completely unfounded.

We wish to carry more donation drives for the benefit of the society and help the needy patients who face
