Shashank Shende's unique getup for 'Palyad'
Some actors are ready to go to any lengths to do justice to a role. Some gain weight, some lose weight... some go bald, some grow hair... while some actors sit in front of the mirror for hours and hours and change their look through makeup. Shashank Shende is one of the actors who is adept at portraying any character with sincerity. Shashank has always played different types of roles. From the soul-stirring brother to the downtrodden farmer and from the common householder in the city to the villager in the village, Shashank has breathed life into all the roles. Now once again they are ready to meet the audience in a new getup. Fans will get to see Shashank's changed look in the upcoming Marathi film 'Palyad'.
Producers Pawan Sadamwar, Suraj Sadamwar, Mangesh Dupare, Pranoti Panchal and Shailesh Bhimrao Dupare have produced 'Palyad' under the banner of Elevate Films and Elevate Life and Lavanyapriya Arts. This movie was directed by Shailesh Bhimrao Dupare. The movie 'Palyad' is going to tell the story of a family in a graveyard society. Shashank's look in 'Palyad' is somewhat like a fakir. Shashank's get-up in 'Palyad' is very different from the characters portrayed so far, with a long beard-mustache, saffron clothes, fetta on the head, uparana on the shoulders, Ashtagandh placed on the lower part of both eyes along with the forehead, various types of garlands around the neck, conch shells, talismans, sticks with bells and bells in hand. The name of this intriguing character and the secret of why Shashank has worn such a disguise has not been revealed yet. Shashank is also eager to see how the audience responds to his character in 'Palyad'. Shashank said that the title of this film tells a lot. 'Palyad' means beyond, but beyond anything can have many meanings. The audience will soon understand what exactly the film is commenting on. The character I played in this film is very important. What exactly is this character and what will he do will be solved only after watching the movie. Playing this character required a different level of energy. Shashank also said that he played this character with the strength of dialect, body language and immense confidence in the getup.
The story of 'Palyad' has been written by Sudarshan Khadangale, screenplay and dialogues have been written by Sudarshan Khadangale and Shailesh Bhimrao Dupare. Along with Shashank, the film also stars Devika Daftardar, Ruchit Ninave, Devendra Dodke, Veera Sathitdar, Gajesh Kamble and Sayali Dethe, Bharat Rangari, Babita Uike, Ravi Dhakate, Sumedha Srirame, Chaitali Borkute, Ashwini Khobragade and Sachin Giri. Chetan Kondvilkar has worked as the associate director and Swapnil Dharmadhikari has done the makeup. Taking a different path, 'Palyad' will be released across Maharashtra on November 4 through K Sera Sera distribution.
